Overview
Who’s Playing Tonight is a jazz event listing app and website. You can browse schedules without creating an account, making reservations, or submitting personal information to us. The optional paid Promo feature and administrative tools require limited information described below.
Information we collect
- Browsing and usage data: device and browser information, app or site version, operating system, crash diagnostics, selected region, and interactions with schedules, venues, promotions, announcements, and messages.
- Location for region selection: the website asks for location only after you select “Use my location.” Coordinates are used in your browser to find a supported region and are not sent to or stored by our servers. We may record the selected region and permission outcome, but not precise coordinates, in analytics.
- Pseudonymous identifiers: our services may create identifiers for analytics, purchase restoration, notifications, attribution, fraud prevention, and diagnostics.
- Promo and admin data: if you use these features, we store the data needed to review, publish, pay for, and manage your submission.
Promo feature
Promo data may include an authenticated Firebase user ID, artist and venue names, region, event date and time, ticket URL, contact email, submitted notes, image or logo, moderation results, status history, purchase verification, terms acceptance, performance statistics, and an optional notification token. We use this information to review and publish promotions, prevent fraud, provide support, report performance, and send status updates. Automated systems and human reviewers may review submissions.
Payments
Apple and Google process in-app purchases, and Stripe processes website payments. We do not receive or store payment-card details. We may retain product, transaction, checkout-session, customer, entitlement, refund, and verification identifiers needed to fulfill purchases, provide support, prevent fraud, and resolve disputes.
Advertising, analytics, and service providers
Depending on the platform and feature, service providers may process device information, IP address, advertising identifiers where permitted, app-instance identifiers, and usage data. Providers include Google AdMob, Google Analytics and Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, Meta for install attribution, Google Cloud, Google Gemini for promo moderation, Mailgun for email, RevenueCat for purchase verification, Stripe for website payments, and Apple or Google for in-app payments.

How we use and share information
We use information to operate and improve schedules and promotions, measure performance, diagnose errors, communicate with users, maintain safety, and comply with law. We share information with service providers only as needed for those purposes, or when required by law. We do not sell precise location information. Advertising and analytics practices may be treated as sharing or targeted advertising under some state laws; available platform and browser controls can limit those practices.
Retention and security
We retain data only as long as reasonably needed for the feature, legal obligations, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and enforcement. No internet service is completely secure, but we use technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we handle.
Your choices and rights
You can deny location permission, limit advertising tracking in device settings, disable notifications, and use supported browser privacy controls. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict processing. Contact us to make a request; we may need to verify it.
Children, international users, and changes
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our providers operate. We may update this policy and will revise the effective date when material changes are made.
